The 19 companies reporting their grinding volumes to the European Cocoa Association (ECA) in Brussels increased their output by 13.6% to 356,854 tonnes cocoa beans in the second quarter of 2021. This is shown in the ECA's latest chart.

This is the first significant upturn in the market after eight consecutive quarters of decline. This even exceeds the result of 2018 (356,109 t), which was the strongest second quarter so far since 2009.
