Dr. Otto Suwelack introduced dried milk production in 1927. Freeze-drying expanded in the 1960s with the first 2-tunnel freeze-drying system. A new plant was built in the 1970s, and it has undergone continuous expansion right up until today. In 1986, AOH Nahrungsmittel GmbH & Co. KG joined the company as its 50% partner, where it has driven international expansion ever since, eventually taking over 100%-ownership of the company 18 years later. Multi-million Euro investments have financed the start-up of new facilities and expanded the company’s capacities. Today, Dr. Otto Suwelack and its 450 employees achieve annual sales exceeding 140 million €, more than 60% of which comes from abroad.

CEO Ronald Felber identifies the core business of Dr. Suwelack primarily as extraction, fermentation, freeze-drying and spray drying. The company is certified in every conceivable regard. Suwelack’s product concepts are natural and distinguished by their great taste and aroma, their compliance with health trends and their capacity to assist customers in taking on a distinctive role over their competition thanks to creative product and marketing concepts.
