Acknowledged experts in technology and plant manufacturing, Glatt provides solutions for complex appli­cations requiring features such as precisely defined particle sizes or shapes, optimum solubility or the functional protection of active ingredients.
Glatt Ingenieurtechnik presents pio­neering processes with fluidized bed system and spouted bed sys­tem technologies for influencing and implementing the optimum setting of product properties through spray granu­lation, spray agglomeration, spray coating and spray encapsulation. For instance, vitamins or enzymes can be granulated in the same process and spray coated with a film that specifically controls the release of their active agents.
Agglomerated instant powder made up of numerous components, some of which are hydrophobic, can be effectively manufactured without the need for separation while remaining easily soluble and retaining homogenous particle distribution. Flavourings and essential oils can be spray granulated and encapsulated before receiving a defined protective coating which ensures that they remain stable and reliable for dosing during transport and storage, and also allows their active agents to be released at the ­desired time. This requires the right selection and combination of process parameters.
In addition, multifunctional labora­tory systems such as the “ProCell LabSystem” can be used at the Glatt Ingenieur­technik’s technology centre in Weimar, Ger­many, or loaned out for tests at a ­company’s own operational premises. The technology centre also features an extensive range of analytical ­equipment.
