SternLife and Herza Schokolade develop trendy organic products

The companies SternLife, the functional food specialist, and Herza Schokolade, both subsidiaries of the independent, owner-managed Stern-Wywiol Gruppe, presented attractive new ideas for health product suppliers as well as for drugstore chains and private labels at the BioFach exhibition in Nuremberg.

Organically grown dates are the foundation of the new functional bars which SternLife offers in two flavours: cocoa with the superfood hempseed, and spicy lemon with ginger and chili. Its protein content of 20 % and a high proportion of dietary fibres make it ideal for athletes and persons who casually enjoy active sports. The vegan bar is free from gluten, soy or lactose and has a balanced amino acid profile. Rice, peas and hempseed serve as sources of protein; they complement each other ideally and in combination supply all required essential amino acids.
In addition, Herza Schokolade also showed new products enabling manufacturers of muesli, ice cream, bakery products and snacks to follow current consumer trends. For the retail trade, in particular, the company offers a wide range of organic baking ingredients for a private label strategy. In response to the increasing demand for chocolate with a high cocoa content, the company now offers flakes made from pure organic cocoa mass with a cocoa content of 100 %. The new product is notable for its authentic cocoa flavour and a high proportion of health-supporting constituents such as polyphenols. The flakes are highly suitable for meeting current food trends such as paleo nutrition.
In the field of baking ingredients, Herza Schokolade presented a wide choice of small organic chocolate pieces in different shapes and flavours. New additions to the range are stars made of white, milk or dark organic chocolate. These are complemented by drops, flakes and coated organic chocolate pieces that are also available with different percentages of cocoa. As private label products, the chocolate pieces unlock additional potential in the food industry and the retail trade.
