New resealing label and ‘xtear’ laser perforation
At the FachPack exhibition the company Südpack Verpackungen GmbH & Co. KG has showcased two opening aids designed to improve the usability and product protection of pouch and tube packs: the new resealing label makes opening and resealing of pouch packs a piece of cake.
This is made possible by a special laser-treated film overlaid with a transparent adhesive label. Thanks to the resealing label, a pack can be opened and sealed any number of times, thus protecting the flavour and freshness even after the pack is opened for the first time. It does away with the need to tear or cut the pouch open.
Another product innovation from Südpack, the groundbreaking opening aid ‘xtear’ makes opening tube packs easier: where it previously took scissors or knives, consumers can now pick up a tube pack and simply tear it open. This is made possible by the pre-perforated seam, which thoroughly preserves the barrier properties and the resulting product protection.
